Happy Holidays and a Joyous New Year!

I want to wish that each and every one of you have a blessed holiday season and new year.

This year has been an amazing journey for me. With the release of my memoir I have met some amazing and wonderful people during my travels. Each one of you have left an impression on me and I carry you with me in my heart.

The support I received from so many people, bloggers, magazines, television and radio personalities have truly touched me. It is beautiful the love you have shown me and what is possible if you tell your truth, live your truth, and speak your truth.

I pray each of you have a wonderful holiday season whereever you are. Enjoy your families, friends, and loved ones. Tell them how much you love them. How they have helped to shape you into the person you are today. Make sure you treasure the moments and memories.

I am ready for 2009. It is going to be a GIANT year for everyone. I have some amazing projects happening in the new year and I am looking forward to the journey, and sharing them with you. I think you all will be very well pleased with the developments and the works I present for the world.

God is truly an awesome God. I could not have done none of this without my God.

One last thing I want to share with you all that is special to me. Each year on New Year's Eve I write out my vision for the year in accordance to God's plan. In Habakkuk 2:2-3, it says, "Write the vision and make it plain on tablets that he may run who reads it for the vision is yet for an appointed time."

James 1:6-8 says, "Let him ask in faith with no
doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and
tossed by the wind. Let not that man suppose that he will receive
anything from the Lord, for he is a double-minded man in all his
ways."

So, everything from career, finances, health, and relationships I write it out plainly. And, make sure to use the "I Am" statement. It affirms what you desire and seek to make happen in your life. I can truly attest that for the past ten years I have been doing this I have witnessed my desires come to fruition. I invite you to write out your visions, dreams, and desires. Let 2009 be the beginning of something new for you. Explore new possibilities and watch the world open up for you to have all it has to offer.

See you in 2009!

So, You Want To Be In The Music Business...

I get so many requests and questions from people all over the world about how to break into the music business. I talk about it in my book the lengths people will go to in order to have their music heard, and to break into the business. It's a grimy business. It's a difficult business. It's also a business about who you know, and who knows you. You got to grind, hustle, and get in people's faces. You got to make it happen. There is no sleeping. Sleeping is for those who have no desire to be in this business. There were many nights I only got 2 or 3 hours of sleep from working on a movie, video set, or television production.

With that, I want to introduce you to my very good friend, and baby sister, Felisha Booker. Man, you talking about a woman who got hustle, grind, and ingenuity, Felisha is that one! I met Felisha years ago while at a bowling party for Atlantic Records. She had on a white t-shirt with graffiti written on it, "HIRE ME." I thought how smart that move was and how innovative. Felisha had a certain quality about her - she was determined to break into the industry.

We hit it off and became friends instantly. Actually, I adopted her as my little sister, and became a mentor for Felisha. By the way, Felisha did get a job as an assistant at Elektra Records from that bowling party. She flourished in her career and then decided she wanted to do something bigger. Actually, she saw a need. She knew that up and coming producers had no real connection or no way of getting their music into the right hands of music exectuvies. Thus, Felisha created Dynamic Producer. It's the industry's leading conference for music producers, executives, songwriters, and those who desire to be in the business.

I attended the first few conferences in New York and have seen it grow from a hotel conference in New York to a national conference happening in Atlanta and Los Angeles.

Yeah, Felisha is big like that and I am so proud of her. She still calls me her big brother and asks for advice.

If you really want to be in this business, then I am telling you that you should attend the next conference for Dynamic Producer. If you are a singer, songwriter, producer, or beat-maker then you should be at this conference every year networking and meeting new people.

Who's participated in the past? Here's a list of some of the industry's heavyweights:

Smell Yo D*ck...

I can't, I can't, I can't. But, it is true. Some people will go to great lengths to discover if their man is cheating. It reminds me of one down low brother I used to date. After sex he would use a wet hot wash towel but no soap to clean himself. He told me that he could not go home to his girl smelling like my soap, especially at two in the morning.

But check this story out -
Police: Suspicious wife who demands to smell husband's genitals beaten
By Will Greenlee
Wednesday, December 17, 2008

PORT ST. LUCIE — Police are seeking an arrest warrant for a man accused of hitting his wife after she asked to smell his penis to determine whether he was cheating with another woman, according to a police report released Wednesday.

The 37-year-old victim told investigators her husband of three years punched her face and kicked her arms and legs Monday night after she accused him of having an affair.

The victim said she told her 25-year-old husband as he used the restroom "to display his penis to her so that she can smell it," the report states.

She said she asked him to show his genital area so she could determine whether he was cheating with another woman.

As she went to sniff her husband's penis, he reportedly punched her mouth and started to kick her when she was on the floor. The husband then fled the scene.

Police saw bruises and red marks on the victim's mouth, legs and arms.

She became uncooperative when told a warrant would be filed for her husband's arrest.

Wanda Sykes on Jay Leno...

Celebrity Wanda Sykes, who recently came out as a gay woman, was on Jay Leno last night. It's great to see a black gay celebrity on national television being unashamed and unafraid to openly discuss their sexuality.

You Go Wanda!!!
